2010 Scholarship Award Recipients

Three scholarships were awarded on Friday, December 17 at Brandon Emergency Services College at the graduation ceremonies for the December 2010 Graduating Class.

The Board was pleased to present scholarships to the following graduates:

June 24, 2010

On June 24, 2010, Linda Nichols and Lynn Lessard attended graduation ceremonies for the June 2010 class of Brandon Emergency Services College.

The Board was pleased to present scholarships to the following graduates:

Brandon Fast, Jessie Schwark, Christopher Ducharme, Derek Endicott and Jeremy Wiwcharyk

 

The Lessard/Nichols Scholarship Fund wishes all graduates in 2010 best of luck in their chosen profession. Stay Safe.

2009 Scholarship Award Recipients

On August 4, 2009 the first presentations of the Lessard �Nichols Scholarship took place. Fire Commissioner Douglas Popowich presented the scholarships at a formal gathering at the Manitoba Emergency Services College in Brandon, Manitoba.

The three recipients of the award were Justin Zawyrucha, Wyatt Martfeld and Derek Kremski.

The recipients and their classmates were introduced to the legacy of Captain Harold Lessard and Captain Tom Nichols and to the tragedy that befell them. They were given insight to the Scholarship �its creation and purpose “of providing financial assistance to others who wish to follow their dream of becoming a firefighter�

The candidates learned how both Captains were dedicated to the profession and that each of the recipients were chosen to receive scholarships because they demonstrated the same commitment.
